College History
College of Health Sciences, Yendi was established in November 2007 by the Ministry of Health to run the Health Assistants (Clinical) programme with an initial student population of ninety-nine (99) and two (2) tutors including the principal. It was then known as Yendi Health Assistants (Clinical) Training School but was changed to College of Heath Sciences, Yendi in 2012 after it has gained accreditation to run Diploma programmes. The college has two campuses known as old site and new site. The college has since been temporally accommodated within the structures and facilities of Islamic No.2 JHS (old site) in addition to its new campus (new site) which is 1.5km west away from the old site.
The college is located in Yendi at the Gamanzi community, two kilometers west of the Yendi Township in the Yendi Municipality. The Yendi Municipal shares boundaries with Saboba District and Cheriponi District to the East, Nanumba North District to the South, Mion District to the West and Gushegu District to the North. It is 90km from Tamale, the regional capital of Northern region
